MEET THE TEAM
Our senior management with many years’ experience
Meet the team
The Tommies team is headed up by forward-thinking senior management with many years’ experience in the sector. We’re delighted that they’ve helped us to achieve a 3 Star Best Companies Accreditation every year since 2019. This demonstrates that our staff have ‘extraordinary’ levels of engagement in their work at Tommies.
That comes from pushing the company forwards, and coming up with new and innovative ideas, like our Ofsted Grading Award Scheme. This is a chance for us to all celebrate when a team achieves ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating.

Hi I am Danielle Butler, Operations Director here at Tommies Childcare.
I joined Tommies Childcare in 2015 and have led the direction of the organisation from an Operational level since then. Following the completion of my Early Years Degree in 2007 my journey has been extremely varied, from working as both a Nursery Practitioner, and a Nursery Manager has given me an invaluable insight into the dynamics and diversity of Nursery life.
I am extremely proud of the work that we have done around employee engagement and this was recognised on a much wider level when I was awarded Nursery Worlds, Regional Manager of the Year in 2018. In addition to this we have been awarded a 3 Star Best Companies rating, in 2019 and 2020 showcasing our commitment to employee engagement on a national level.
This accreditation solidifies my commitment to our workforce and something that I feel is overlooked as a priority for many businesses. I work with a great team here at Tommies Childcare and truly believe that each and every one of their contributions to the children we care for is what makes us different to our competitors.
Having my own child in 2018 only amplified my passion for Early Years Education and many a time I hear the Nursery Practitioner in me come out when facing the challenges that is parenting in the 21stCentury. I am truly committed to making Tommies Childcare a great place to work. So, if you feel that you have something to Tommies Childcare and would love to join our team, please get in touch.

Hello, my name is Kelly Andrews and I am the Area Manager for Tommies Childcare.
I began my Tommies journey back in 2015 when I joined the organisation as a Nursery Manager. Since then, I have progressed in the organisation and I now oversee all of our nursery sites from an operational perspective. I also deliver regular training for our staff to help support their professional development.
I have worked in the Early Years sector since 2010 when I worked as a Nursery Practitioner whilst studying at University. It was during this experience where I discovered the joy and reward that comes with working alongside young children.
After I graduated from University and began my Early Years journey, I set myself a goal to progress into an Area Manager role. I achieved this goal in 2018 when I was 29, which is something I’m very proud of. This couldn’t have happened without the support, training and guidance that I have received since joining Tommies Childcare. The company’s ethos of ‘growing your own’ couldn’t be more key to my professional development.
Tommies is a family-run business where we place great value in our staff. People are treated as individuals and are all regarded as integral to the progression of the organisation.
I am known within Tommies for being upbeat and positive (even at 6am in the morning). This is an attitude that I uphold at work and in my personal life. Family and friendship are both extremely important to me, and this is why I know that working at Tommies has always been the right decision for me both personally and professionally.
Now, all that’s left to ask yourself is, when are you going to start your journey within Tommies Childcare?

Hi there,
I’m Matt Fooks, Finance Director at Tommies Childcare.
Tommies is a family-run business, and I am part of the second-generation to support in the running of the organisation. I began my journey at Tommies back in 2009, working part time whilst completing my A-Levels followed by my degree in Accounting & Finance. I then came on board full time in 2014 to work in the Finance Team.
I’m mostly responsible for ensuring that the company grows and remains sustainable for future generations. Since I have been working at Tommies, I have helped the company to acquire two additional nurseries and have gained planning consent to extend two of our current nurseries.
While the organisation has plans to grow, we are committed to retaining our ‘family feel’. One of our biggest strengths as an organisation is that, despite staff being spread across multiple nurseries, everyone knows who each other is and has professional relationships with one another.
I became an Uncle in 2019, and the time I have been spending with my niece has reaffirmed my belief that the early years of a child’s life are the most critical. The work we do here at Tommies Childcare is so important. The bearing that good quality childcare can have on children’s futures is enormous.
If you have something to offer here at Tommies, we’d love to hear from you. Take a look at our current vacancies [here].
