Day Nursery & Pre-school Provision in Nuneaton
Meet the team
I am Anna Biddlestone, and I joined Tommies Childcare originally as Nursery Manager at The Old School Day Nursery. I came to Arbury in July 2018. I have over 15 years’ experience working in childcare, where I originally set out as a childminder when my own children were young. When they started primary school, I began working in a local nursery before heading on to work for a Local Authority, where I then managed an Outstanding graded Children’s Centre.
My degree in Early Years Education Studies has enabled me to challenge my own thinking about how children learn and develop. I recognise the need for children to have opportunities to explore a diverse and stimulating environment where adults can challenge and support their learning.
We have a highly qualified and experienced staff team here at Arbury, which combined with our parent partnerships, enables us to help children meet their full potential.
We provide quality childcare and learning experiences in our unique nursery environment, and we would welcome the opportunity to show you our setting at any time.
My name is Zoe Griffiths and I am the Deputy Manager here at Arbury Day Nursery.
I started my career in the Early Years Sector more than sixteen years ago. My journey started as a Level 2 Apprentice, but since then I have gained many childcare qualifications, including a BA Honours Degree in Integrated Working with Children and Families.
I have worked as a Deputy Manager for the last five years and was also the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Special Educational Needs (SEN) Coordinator. In addition, I am also a Level 3 qualified Forest School Leader.
Outside of work, I am a mother to two boys, now aged thirteen and seven. My boys love being outdoors, climbing mountains and are completely mad about football.
I have always had a passion for working with children, watching them learn, and develop in enriching environments. My particular interest is in outdoor learning, which allows children the time and space to develop their skills, interests and understanding through a range of activities in a natural environment.
I can’t wait to implement my knowledge and experience in the practice here at Arbury Day Nursery. We’d love for your child to attend Arbury, so why not arrange a tour today?
Arbury is supported by a team of 10 Nursery Practitioners who are all passionate about working with children in the early years sector. All staff have Paediatric First Aid Training and receive regular and ongoing training through a variety of internal and external professional development opportunities.
Our commitment guarantees that our employees are the best of the best, recruiting those who have a desire to make a difference to children and are passionate about the early years as a career choice.
In 2016 the team helped the nursery maintain their ‘Good’ Ofsted grading. In the report, Ofsted acknowledged that, “Staff get to know children and their families well. They are kind, caring and friendly. Staff are also sensitive to meeting children’s care needs. Children are settled, happy and content. They demonstrate that they enjoy attending”.
This is evident in the number of company awards that the setting has received.
- Nursery Manager of the Year (2019): Anna Biddlestone
- Outstanding Nursery Practitioner (2019): Allease Wall
- Innovative Environments Award (2018): Toddler Room
Some of the team at Arbury have been at the setting for over 5 years. This has helped to provide consistency for the children, and we recognise how important familiar faces are for parents as well. Our longest serving staff are:
- Allease Wall (Toddler Room)
- Danielle Woolaston (Pre-school Room)
- Hannah Cooper (Pre-school Room)
