Day Nursery & Pre-school Provision in Kenilworth
Meet the team
I’m Debbie Gunn, Nursery Manager at Field House Day Nursery, Kenilworth.
I have recently joined Tommies Childcare, a nursery group that is highly regarded within the childcare sector, and I am more than ready to embrace my role with the high expectation of helping Tommies to continue its growth.
I hold a BA (hons) in Childcare along with Early Years Professional Status. My formative training was via Montessori in London, where I started as a Nursery Practitioner. Suffice to say, I am doing what I love best!
I am a Mother to Molly who has enriched my life, whilst at the same time giving me a better understanding of the parent’s expectations when leaving their own pride and joy in my nursery. I believe, therefore, that I am fully equipped to empathise, support and understand if issues arise and give appropriate and meaningful advice.
In 2016 I was awarded Nursery Manager of the Year by Nursery World, with one judge stating, ‘Debbie has huge capability, strength and vision.’ I have been praised by Ofsted for being ‘incredibly passionate’ and I couldn’t have summarised myself any better. Providing the right care for your child is at the forefront of everything I do within my daily work ethic.
It is a privilege watching children learn and develop. The effort we put in as early years’ practitioners can make such a big difference to their lives and give them an excellent start when they move on to their further education.
I believe it is vital when working with the children that our aim is to build happy and confident little people, who are able to grow into contended, cultured and considerate members of today’s society.
I would love the opportunity to give you a tour of the setting, which will be a fantastic setting for your child. Please arrange your visit today so that you can see that children in our nursery are safe, cared for, and most of all… loved.
My name is Amy and I joined the Tommies group in July 2017, originally at The Old School Day Nursery in North Warwickshire. I joined the team here at Field House in January 2020.
I have worked in childcare for nearly 15 years, many of which have been spent in the role of a Deputy Manager. Throughout my career so far, I have attained various childcare qualifications and gained my Level 3 qualification in Management.
In my time so far at Field House I have become part of a warm and experienced team, and through parent partnerships we have created an inviting and homely experience for the children in our care.
We’d be delighted to show you around our nursery. Please feel free to arrange a visit!
Field House is supported by a team of 6 Nursery Practitioners who are all passionate about working with children in the early years sector. All staff have Paediatric First Aid Training and receive regular and ongoing training through a variety of internal and external professional development opportunities.
Our commitment guarantees that our employees are the best of the best, recruiting those who have a desire to make a difference to children and are passionate about the early years as a career choice.
The nursery was last inspected by Ofsted in 2018 and retained its ‘Good’ grading. Ofsted remarked that, “Staff have high expectations of children. Staff make good use of their accurate observations and assessments to effectively plan for each child’s learning and to meet their individual needs.”
The setting has high quality environments, both indoors and outdoors, in which the staff team are able to create outstanding early years experiences for children. The garden area was professionally designed and refurbished in 2019, providing an environment that the children at Field House love play in.
In 2018, the team were presented with the Progression Award at the Tommies Childcare Awards Ceremony.
Our Community Library at Field House was an idea created by one of the team, this has been extremely popular in sharing their love of books with the children, parents and the wider community.
