Pre-school Provision in Coventry
Meet the team
I’m Rachel and I’m the Nursery Manager at Little Hollies Pre-school.
I have been with Tommies Childcare since the start of 2019, bringing more than 15 years of experience in caring for young children. I have previously worked in a variety of childcare settings, including a private pre-school, full day nursery and a SEN play scheme.
I have been in management roles since 2012 and I really enjoy supporting Nursery Practitioners. I studied part-time to gain my Early Childhood Studies degree, which has enhanced my knowledge and confidence in encouraging children to reach their full potential. I truly believe that children thrive when they are both nurtured and challenged by adults who are interested in them.
Little Hollies provides a stimulating environment in which children are excited about learning. If you would like to come and see for yourself, please arrange an appointment.
I’m Jean Wardle, the Deputy Manager here at Little Hollies Pre-school.
I started my journey with Tommies in January 2020 and so far I am enjoying every minute of it, and I am so glad to be a part of the Little Hollies team.
I have been a qualified nursery practitioner for over twenty years and hold an HNC Qualification in Childcare and Education. My childcare career originally started in Scotland, which continued after I relocated to Coventry in 2000.
I have progressed from the role of nursery practitioner, to deputy manager, and then to a manager role over the course of the last 15 years.
I have an eight-year-old grandchild, who I care for, so my change in life brings me to Tommies Childcare. I have a great passion for children and feel fully committed to them when providing childcare and education here at Little Hollies.
We would very much like to give you the opportunity to visit Little Hollies and learn more about the care we provide here. Please arrange a visit, and we hope to see you soon.
Little Hollies is our term-time only setting which operates from The Pavilion at Bablake Playing Fields. Little Hollies has been a part of the Tommies Family since 2003 and is widely recognised in the local area. The setting employs a team of 5 who work together to provide an environment that support and nurtures children’s early years experiences.
All of our employees have Paediatric First Aid Training and receive regular and ongoing training through a variety of internal and external profession development opportunities.
Our commitment guarantees that our employees are the best of the best, recruiting those who have a desire to make a difference to children and are passionate about the early years as a career choice.
In their 2016 Ofsted Inspection it was noted that, “Staff create a welcoming environment for children and their parents. Children are settled and emotionally secure. They behave well and staff boost children’s self-esteem as they praise positive behaviour, effort and achievements.”
This has been achieved through the relationships that staff have with parents and has been acknowledged as one of the main reasons that parents have chosen this setting.
