STACEY SCOTT
Nursery Manager at The Old School

Hello,

My name is Stacey Scott and I proudly hold the Nursery Manger position here at The Old School.

I joined Tommies in 2014 and have progressed in my career, starting initially as a Lunchtime Assistant before joining one of our other nurseries as a full-time Nursery Practitioner. Since then, I have worked hard to develop my skillset and take on more and more management duties, taking up positions as a Room Leader, Third in Charge, Deputy Manager, and I am now embarking on my new role as Nursery Manager.

I have been inspired to work in childcare since I was a teenager. I love the joy that children bring and knew that working with them full-time was the right path for me. It’s not without challenges, but I enjoy them as much as spending a day with young children. No day is ever the same, and I’m continually amazed by how children develop and learn.

I look forward to meeting you (the parents) and your little ones at the start and throughout your early years journey with us. With that in mind, please arrange your visit today.

SALLY WILLIAMS
Deputy Manager at The Old School

Hello,

My name is Sally and I am the Deputy Manager here at The Old School Day Nursery.

I have been with Tommies Childcare since March 2020, working up from Nursery Practitioner to Third in Charge and on into my current position in Summer 2024. I have over 25 years of experience of working in the early years sector, as well as having my own daughter Abbie, who was born in 2009.

I am passionate about helping the little people we care for grow and develop, no two days are the same and I feel very fortunate to have supported so many children and their families over the years.

I am looking forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our Tommies Childcare family. With that in mind, please arrange a time to visit us here at The Old School!

Rest of the Team at The Old School

The Old School is the smallest nursery within our Tommies Childcare group. In what the nursery lacks in size, it more than makes up for through the huge amount of character in the setting.

The setting is supported by 10 staff who are all passionate about working with children in the early years. All of our employees have Paediatric First Aid Training and receive regular and ongoing training through a variety of internal and external professional development opportunities.

Our commitment guarantees that our employees are the best of the best, recruiting those who have a desire to make a difference to children and are passionate about the early years as a career choice.

In 2017 the setting was inspected by Ofsted, and it was recognised that, “Children are developing the skills they need for their future learning. They enjoy investigating and exploring the natural world and how and why things happen.”

This is supported by the natural and open-ended environments that have been created for children at the setting. Staff show confidence in being able to use their environments not only to support but extend children’s learning.

In 2018, the nursery received the Nursery of the Year award at the annual Tommies Childcare Awards Ceremony. This award was given for the hard work and dedication of the management and staff team in providing a fantastic early years provision for the children in their care.

The staff team at The Old School have been instrumental in supporting Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where they have raised over £2,000.
