Westhill Corner is supported by a team of 12 staff, who are all passionate about working with children in the early years.

All of our employees have Paediatric First Aid Training and receive regular and ongoing training through a variety of internal and external professional development opportunities.

Our commitment guarantees that our employees are the best of the best, recruiting those who have a desire to make a difference to children and are passionate about the early years as a career choice.

In 2016, Ofsted noted that: “Children enhance their physical skills and spend time outside each day. They develop good independence skills as they learn to dress themselves for outdoor play.”

Whilst the outdoor area at the setting is smaller than some settings, what they do in the outdoors with the children is of real value to children’s learning and development. The setting has appointed Sarah Wellington as their Outdoors Co-ordinator. She has maximised the effectiveness of the areas available in the outdoor space and is always looking at ways to enhance this further.

Many of the staff team have been in post for over 5 years, meaning that you and your child are reassured by the consistency of a familiar face. We believe this is incredibly important when working with the very youngest children.

The setting received several awards at the 2019 Tommies Childcare Awards Ceremony:

All of these have awards have been received due to the hard work and commitment that the team have contributed to making the setting a great place to be for the children in their care.
