POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Keeping Children Safe
CORE
POLICIES
Safeguarding
Children’s safety comes first. Clear procedures, trained staff, and a named Designated Safeguarding Lead in every nursery.
Behaviour Management
We use positive, consistent approaches that fit a child’s age and stage of development – children are not shamed and there are no “naughty steps”.
Child Attendance
Predictable days and regular attendance help children settle and build confidence. If your child can’t attend nursery for any reason, please let us know as early as you can. If we don’t hear from you, we’ll call to check everything is well.
Illness & Infection
We keep bugs and illnesses at bay with simple, consistent routines. We achieve this by practising regular handwashing, robust cleaning, safe disposal of waste, and wearing the right PPE when it’s needed.
SEND
(Special Educational Needs & Disabilities)
Every child is welcome. Each nursery has a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) and follows a simple plan-do-review approach. We focus on children’s strengths, agree on targets together with families, and involve outside professionals when it helps. Transitions between age groups are planned carefully, so children feel ready for what’s next.
Medication
We’ll only give medication with your written consent and clear instructions. First doses are given at home. Everything is logged and double-checked. Medicine should be brought to nursery in the original packaging, clearly labelled, and families should update us on what’s been given at home.
Terms & Conditions
Simple rules for securing a nursery place, fees, bookings, and notice periods so that expectations are clear for everyone.
