Why Choose

Springthorpe Day Nursery is a spacious nursery with exciting learning environments tailored to each age group.

Springthorpe Day Nursery is more than just a place to learn - it’s a second home where children receive unique opportunities and experiences that go beyond what home alone can offer, nurturing their growth in a warm, supportive environment.

Our staff work hard to plan rich, varied, and imaginative activities tailored to your child's interests, supporting their language development, early numeracy skills, and preparing them confidently for school.

Rooms

& Age Groups

Baby Room

(up to 12 months)

Our Baby Room caters for the youngest in our care, providing them with a safe, calm but inviting atmosphere in which to grow and develop. From cosy corners, messy play tables, climbing frames and everything in between, babies will always have a magical day of play and exploration ahead of them.

Babies also benefit from a separate sleep room, where they can rest their heads after a busy morning or afternoon of play and exploring.

First steps Room

(1 - 2 Years)

The First Steps Room is the perfect place to explore when children are between the baby and toddler stages.

Children this age need a bit of extra space in which to take their first steps, which is just what they get at nursery as they become more mobile.

Toddler Room

(2 - 3 Years)

Exploring and creating adventures is what being a toddler is all about, which is why our Toddler Room actively encourages the 2-to-3s to do what they do best. Alongside using their imagination to play, children of this age begin to learn about sharing and how to play with others.

Our toddlers have access to a wide range of toys, resources, and activities, which is why this room is well-equipped for those busy young minds.

Pre-School Room

(3 - 5 Years)

From creative constructions to wide-ranging interests, there will always be something unique and exciting happening in our Pre-school Room. Pre-school is the last step in your child’s early education.

As children approach primary school age, our staff will help to prepare them for school and ensure they are ready for their next big step by supporting their growth in confidence, independence, and essential skills needed to thrive in a school environment.

The Garden

Garden & Outdoor Spaces

All children need time to stretch those little legs and help them grow stronger. Our garden at Springthorpe Day Nursery offers the chance to do this daily. The great outdoors offers unique learning opportunities that can’t be replicated indoors. That’s why we are committed to letting children roam around our garden every day- come rain or shine.

Keeping You Informed

and Reassured

The FAMLY APP

We love swapping stories, celebrating milestones, and telling you all about what your child gets up to each day when they’re away from home. That’s why we use Famly – the #1 parent partnership app that keeps you connected when your child is at nursery.

ONSITE

CCTV

Your child’s safety is of paramount importance to us.

We use CCTV to support safeguarding and the security of our nursery. It’s an extra layer alongside careful recruitment, DBS checks, and regular training.

A warm welcome from the nursery Manager

Lucinda Rumble

Nursery Manager at Springthorpe Day Nursery

Thank you for taking the time to discover Springthorpe Day Nursery. My name is Lucinda Rumble (call me Lou) and I’m the Nursery Manager here. I have more than 20+ years’ experience in early education and am a Mum of three myself.

Since earning my childcare qualifications in 1999, I’ve spent my career creating learning environments where every child feels seen, nurtured, and encouraged. I believe I bring a wealth of leadership to the team here, having spent more than 15 years as a Nursery Manager.

I joined Tommies because our ethos here matches my own. We focus on warm relationships with families, provide thoughtful care for the children entrusted to us, and create purposeful learning opportunities through play that develop confidence and independence.

My door is always open to families who want to visit, so please take 1 minute to arrange a time to come by, and we’ll show you how our team can support your child’s next steps.

Michaela B

Mother of Child

My daughter has settled into the nursery so smoothly. The nursery has a homely environment, which has enabled her to settle. The staff, Shauna and Bilal, have ensured Kaiann settles, and she is always happy. I walked into the nursery and felt it was perfect; the staff, the environment was the perfect fit for my daughter. I also like the app, which I think is amazingly easy to use; everything has helped for myself and Kiann to adjust to the new routine. Now she doesn't want to leave the nursery.

Tyler M

Mother of Child

I have found the settling-in stage very nice. My son is looked after by lovely, caring staff who support him in all areas. He has a great variety of activities to choose from each week, and he is really enjoying exploring new things.

Megan P

Mother of Child

My daughter started here in November. She used to cry but the staff made her happy and comfortable. She has learned so much since being here. She has only just turned 2 and she knows her alphabet and can count to 10! The staff made me feel so comfortable leaving her here. Would always recommend!
